Dilgard, Riddle are treasures for Everett

We, the Marcus Whitman Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, would like to commend David Dilgard and Margaret Riddle of the Everett City Library for their many years of dedicated service in preserving the history of this area. These two fine people, and the Library’s Northwest Room, are the jewels in the crown of the City of Everett.
Many days the Northwest Room is abuzz with the activity of students doing research for school reports, families tracing their genealogy, homeowners looking for early photos of their homes, and people just interested in local history. People are assisted through these experiences with the guidance of David and Margaret’s many years of gathered knowledge and their enthusiasm with their work.
Both David and Margaret have attended functions throughout the area to give slide shows and lectures on subjects ranging from the Everett Massacre to the Women’s Legacy Project. Phone calls are answered from as far away as Paris, France from a woman who wanted more information about a plate she owns with a picture of the Mission Building on it.
We would like to publicly thank Mr. Dilgard and Ms. Riddle for their years of dedicated service and caring preservation of our history and their ability and willingness to share it with each and every one of us.
