SNOHOMISH – Familiar foes Snohomish and Monroe renewed their rivalry Friday in what Snohomish coach Dan Pingrey called a physically played game.

The Panthers and Bearcats played to a 0-0 draw in a Western Conference North Division game.

“There were some hellacious tackles,” Pingrey said. “There was a great crowd oohing and aahing at every tackle.”

In a game that featured two of the best goalkeepers in the Wesco, Monroe’s Ben Dragavon and Snohomish’s Brian Harrison, scoring was hard to come by.

Snohomish’s best chance came in the 10th minute off a Ben Tatum looping shot that went over Dragavon’s head. A Monroe defender ran back to bicycle kick the ball off the goal line to preserve the draw.

Monroe’s best chance was on a Brett Walsh one-on-one. But Harrison was in position to save the shot.

“It was a pretty even, hard-fought game,” Pingrey said
