Please don’t sell our country’s soul

Regardless of what the president’s lawyers or anyone else says, the United States should not launch a pre-emptive attack on Iraq. That is not the behavior of the United States I grew up in. It is the behavior of a bully, who will pick on those smaller than himself, hitting them first. We are not that kind of people.

It’s not that I sympathize with Saddam Hussein, who certainly is no friend of the U.S. I simply don’t want my country to play the part of the aggressor, as did Hitler’s Germany.

Mr. President, please don’t sell our country’s soul.
