Everyone gripes, not just SUV owners

In response to Kristine Clark’s March 10 letter “Local station owners aren’t getting rich”: You aren’t the only one who knows the facts about gas pricing and profit. My brother owned a gas station for years and I know he made very little money on gas and that the majority of his profit came from sales in the mini-mart.
But please do not blame SUV drivers for being the majority of the people who complain about prices. Everyone who buys gas complains about the prices – from owners of the smallest two-seater to the 18-wheelers. I am sick to death of people slamming SUV drivers. You don’t know who we are or why we drive large vehicles. So think next time before you speak; you may be slamming a foster parent with five kids at home (four in car seats)! You don’t like being slammed for being a price gouger but you do the same to SUV drivers.
And as for moving to Europe, maybe you should be the one to move there, then you can charge more for your gas. You think the people of Europe don’t complain about the prices there?
