Commandments help avoid getting hurt

It’s interesting why anyone would be offended by the Ten Commandments. The Ten Commandments are not radical. They’re simple rules intended to make our lives better and less trouble free.
Anyone with small children uses the word “don’t” countless times every day. “Don’t touch that, that’s hot.” “Don’t climb on that you’ll fall.” We tell them this because we don’t want them to get hurt.
For example: “Thou shall not commit adultery.” How many families have been destroyed because of an affair? I’m sure Kobe Bryant has some regrets. Scott Peterson probably has a dent in his jail cell where he bangs his head. I recall Donald Trump’s tryst was rather costly. The list is endless.
Whether someone believes in a deity or not, that person will benefit from these 10 common sense guidelines.
