Teachers answer a higher calling

Amid the pros and cons of the Marysville School District vs. the teachers, I’d like to remind everyone:

To the teacher, America entrusts her most precious resource, her children; and asks that they be prepared … to face the rigors of individual participation in a democratic society.” – Shirley Mount Hufstedler, former U.S. secretary of education.
The Marysville School District is showing me that it is more interested in preserving itself than keeping our kids from asking “would you like fries with that?” on a daily basis (apologies to those who do, but …).
