The City Council will consider two airport matters at its regular meeting at 7 tonight at the Arlington Boys and Girls Club, 18513 59th Ave. NE.
The first is to approve the airport risk management plan that has been developed in response to increased security concerns involving potential terrorism.
The plan has been reviewed by the state Department of Transportation’s Aviation Division, the city’s police department, and a local pilot’s group. The Airport Commission approved the plan.
The second matter is whether to appoint former City Councilman Oliver Smith to fill the airport commission’s lone vacancy.
Edmonds
City Council meeting Tuesday
The Edmonds City Council holds a regular meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Public Safety Complex, 250 Fifth Avenue N.
The council plans to make an appointment to the planning board, recognize Dale Hoggins as citizen of the year and hold a public hearing on roof heights above 25 feet.
Everett
Workshop set
for plan update
A planning commission public workshop on the city’s update of its comprehensive plan will be at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the hearing room on the eighth floor of the Wall Street Building, 2930 Wetmore Ave.
The city’s 10-year update is required by state law. The city must provide information on developable land. Population and employment also are being discussed.

Foundation elects board members
The Providence General Foundation has announced its newly elected board members, who will serve 3-year terms.
They are Mark Duffy, president of Coastal Community Bank; Karen Hanson, Scott Employees Credit Union; Dr. Frank Nieto, cardiac surgeon, Everett Cardiac Surgical Associates; Ross Miller, retired; Jeff Moore, director of finance, Everett School District; Gary Weikel, Snohomish County deputy executive.
The foundation officers are board chairman Ross Miller, retired; Weikel, who is first vice chairman; second vice chair Don Ayres, senior vice president, Health Practice Partners; treasurer Larry Jubie; and secretary Karen Hanson, Scott Employees Credit Union.

Downtown group talks with council
The City Council will conduct a special meeting tonight to meet with the Downtown Association prior to the regular council meeting.
During the regular workshop meeting after the special meeting, council members will discuss the Northwest Collegiate Rowing Conference contract, a vehicle bid and a contract with Rabanco.
Other agenda items include discussion of a cable TV franchise agreement, an appointment to the park board, year-end financial reports, naming the city’s Soper Hill property and sign design concept.
The meeting with the Downtown Association begins at 6 tonight and the workshop meeting at 7 p.m. Both meetings will be at 1808 Main St.
Lynnwood
Women’s history month celebrated
In honor of Women’s History Month, the Lynnwood Senior Center is hosting Conversation Cafe, at 11:30 a.m. on Monday at 5800 198th St. SW, which will feature Mildred Tanner Andrews, author of “Women’s Place: A Guide to Seattle and King County History,” as the guest speaker.
She will talk about the women of the Northwest who were pioneers, builders and sustainers. Lunch is $2 for the event. Reservations are required. For more information, call 744-6464.
Marysville
Council to discuss waterfront park
The City Council will discuss a consultant contract for the Ebey Slough Waterfront Park during its workshop meeting tonight.
Other agenda items include a planning commission recommendation regarding amendments to the development code, an annexation notice of intent for Allen Creek Baptist Church, and a planning commission appointment.
The council also will discuss three draft ordinances, including one establishing and amending procedures for processing and reviewing site plans and master plans, one combining the city’s water works utility and surface water utility and another relating to the water works utility and issuance of up to $30 million in revenue bonds.
The meeting begins at 7 tonight at City Hall, 1049 State Ave.
Mill Creek
Business meeting set for tomorrow
The Mill Creek Business Association is holding a meeting scheduled for noon Tuesday, at Mill Creek City Hall in the Council Chambers, 15728 Mill Creek Blvd.

Council discusses water contract
The City Council will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in council chambers, 806 W. Main St. Final action items include a contract extension with Sky Meadow Water. Mukilteo
Council continues public hearing
The Mukilteo City Council will hold a public hearing at 7 tonight in the multi-purpose room of Fire Station No. 3 at 10400 47th Place W.
The hearing is to consider an ordinance to reduce required landscape buffer for property zoned Light Industrial adjacent to commercial property from 20 feet to 10 feet and require the landscaping include a fence.
Snohomish
Blood drive set at Snohomish High
The Snohomish High School Junior ROTC program will hold a community blood drive at the high school 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m. March 17-19. Volunteers are encouraged to come by and give the gift of life at the school, located at 1316 Fifth St., Snohomish.
Council meets with school board
The City Council will have a joint workshop with the Snohomish School Board at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the George Gilbertson Board Room, 1601 Ave. D. Dinner, auction benefits courtyard
The nonprofit Stanwood Area Historical Society invites the public to a Courting Spring dinner and silent auction at 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center 27112 102nd Ave. NW.
The South End String Band from Camano Island will perform.
Tickets are $25. Proceeds will help pay for completing the courtyard adjacent to the center.
