Politicians aren’t really bound to U.S.

Treasury Secretary John Snow’s remarks concerning the steady loss of American jobs was revealing in its candor.

“Outsourcing is an integral part of the global trading system,” opined Snow. We must not forget that “trade makes America strong.”

Correction. Trade makes the CEOs of major corporations like Snow and his cadres in the Bush administration “strong.” The rest of us are expected to manage on less (and possibly without a job).

Snow’s comments illustrate that the people in office today are not really bound to America at all, but are basically “internationalists,” devoted to a system of global commerce. Apart from the requisite flag on their lapel, there’s not a drop of American blood in one of them.
