‘Smoking bat’ fiasco doesn’t add up

I have been closely following the story about the Snohomish Little League ballfields. I am especially fascinated by Brian Kelly’s “Smoking Bat” report in the July 14 Herald. Let me see if I understand that report correctly. County Executive Aaron Reardon rifled through Jeff Sax’s e-mail to find one in which Sax’s ex-assistant asked the Planning Department to “do what you can” about the red-tag on the Little League fields. Reardon exaggerated the e-mail’s content to the Marysville Rotary. Then Reardon distributed copies of the email to reporters. But Reardon is not pointing fingers! Somehow, this doesn’t all add up.
