50 years ago (1955)

The Snohomish County Association of Insurance Agents met in the West room of the Monte Cristo Hotel, with Al Tunem presiding. Bob Mody presented a program relating to problems encountered daily in the fire and auto insurance business.

Ralph “Tim” Judy, formerly of Everett, was chosen the No. 1 figure during the Milwaukee School of Engineering’s recent celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. He was costumed in the ancient attire of the good saint who brought Christianity to Ireland. Judy, 23, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Creighton Judy, 3815 Federal St.

25 years ago (1980)

State Rep. Jim Mitchell’s work in obtaining state funding for poison control centers won him an appointment as honorary consultant to the Children’s Orthopedic Hospital and Medical Center Poison Network. Mitchell was a pharmacist in Lake Stevens.

Three piano students representing the Snohomish County Music Teachers Association played at Eastern Washington University. They were Ken Boulton of Arlington, a student of Hope Bohn; Johanna Richardson of Mukilteo, a student of Elizabeth Hayes; and Paul Caise of Everett, a student of Judy Baker.
