Ann Anderst is the new executive director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Snohomish County, a branch of the YMCA. She replaces Maddy Metzger-Utt, who left in July after serving more than 12 years. Previously, Anderst was the Y’s director of development.
Michael DeBaecke, Alex Henderson and Jon Campbell are new security officers at the Port of Everett. DeBaecke will watch the agency’s marine terminals full-time. Henderson and Campbell will be part-time employees.
Dr. Michael Hogan of Seattle has obtained the postgraduate designation of certified chiropractic sports physician by the American Board of Sports Physicians.
Toni Baumann of Fluke Networks of Everett has been elected president of the board of directors of Habitat for Humanity of Snohomish County. She follows Morris Van Horne of Cascade Bank, who remains on the board’s executive and finance committees.
Penny Lange, a University of Washington student, has received a career advancement scholarship award from the Business and Professional Women’s Foundation of Washington, D.C.

The Future of Flight Aviation Center at Paine Field has launched a new Web site at www.futureofflight.org. The 73,000-square-foot center opens Oct. 28, with grand opening events that day and continuing on weekends through Thanksgiving. Space limited; reservations required. Tickets are $15 for adults, $8 for children 5-17, $14 for active duty military and seniors ages 65 and older.

The Hereth family of Snohomish and Hillis family of Arlington were scheduled to receive awards from Snohomish County Executive Aaron Reardon on Thursday at the Evergreen State Fair for their part in maintaining farms that have been owned by their original families for at least 100 years.
