Courageous to take such a moral stand

Lt. Ehren Watada, being a commissioned officer of the U.S. Army, is surely well aware of risk and probably has a fair understanding of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Lt. Watada took a stand on an issue he believes in. He stood up and said what 100 percent of the veterans of this war who I have talked with have said they feel as well.

The Constitution should always outweigh other considerations in issues involving government corruption. It’s Lt. Watada’s duty, as well as all of us who choose liberty over a false sense of security, to stand up for what’s right. I’d applaud Lt. Watada even if I didn’t agree with him. He has the courage to take his civic responsibility with more than a grain of salt. He has the courage to keep his oath to protect the United States from the scoundrels who would usurp power from those whose forefathers gave their blood, their lives to protect. If more of us had that kind of courage we surely would not be scorned and hated by the rest of the world and we surely would not be causing unrest in the Middle East.
