Bush plan to cut benefits traitorous

Having read countless letters to the editor in which your readers railed against the Democratic Party as not supporting our troops because we want them out of a war they should never have been sent to, it was with dismay and disgust that I read the article in Tuesday’s Herald indicating that George W. Bush proposes cutting back veteran’s benefits beginning in 2009, even while the VA estimates it will have to treat over 250,000 soldiers who served in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I’m hoping to see all those same people who claimed the Democrats don’t support our troops get up on their soapboxes and call this Republican administration for what it truly is: the biggest bunch of traitors to those people who bravely serve in our military every day.
