Spaltudaq Corp., the biotech with the hardest-to-pronounce name in Seattle, has raised $29 million, the company announced over the weekend. See the news here, http://www.nwinnovation.com/story/0008093.html, or here, http://www.bizjournals.com/seattle/stories/2007/03/12/daily35.html.
Founded in 2004 by ICOS veteran Johnny Stine, Spaltudaq is developing antibodies aimed at treating cancer and other diseases. This was a second round of financing for the company. All kidding aside about pronunciation, the name comes from the Northwest’s Salish language. Here’s the company’s Web site, http://www.spaltudaq.com.
