D-Day article would be appropriate

It is a sad state of affairs when the June 6 headline reads “Tribes to have more slot machines and they will accept cash.” Instead the headline should have some story to honor our military with some type of remembrance of D-Day, the loss of American lives which lead to the freedoms we have today, and the eventual fall of the Nazi regime.
If we took a poll, how many readers would even know what D-Day is or when it occurred? I would think that The Herald would want to serve as a medium for keeping people informed of the truly important days of history and the impact it still has on our lives today.
