Where fireworks are allowed

With fireworks stands open, fire officials are urging people to use fireworks responsibly and safely.

In 2006, 1,001 fireworks accidents were reported to the state Fire Marshal’s Office. Those included 207 injuries, of which 66 were to children under the age of 14.

In Snohomish County, fireworks rules vary in cities. Everett, for example, bans the sale, possession and discharge of fireworks.

Here are fireworks regulations in the county:

Arlington: Discharge is allowed 9 a.m. to midnight Wednesday. Violators can be fined up to $5,000 and a year in jail.

Bothell: Discharge is allowed from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Darrington: Discharge is allowed from 9 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.

Edmonds: Discharge is banned.

Everett: Discharge is banned.

Gold Bar: Discharge is banned.

Granite Falls: Discharge is allowed from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. through Tuesday, 9 a.m. to midnight Wednesday, and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday.

Index: Discharge is allowed from 9 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.

Lake Stevens: Discharge is allowed from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. through Tuesday, 9 a.m. to midnight Wednesday, and 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday. Violators could face a misdemeanor and a fine.

Lynnwood: Discharge is allowed from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Marysville: Discharge is allowed from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday.

Mill Creek: Discharge is banned.

Monroe: Discharge is allowed from 9 a.m. to midnight Wednesday. Violations could bring fines.

Mountlake Terrace: Discharge is banned.

Mukilteo: Discharge is banned.

Snohomish County (unincorporated): Discharge is allowed from 9 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Wednesday.

Snohomish: Sale and discharge is allowed Sunday to Wednesday. Violations could bring up to $300 fine or 90 days in jail.

Stanwood: Discharge is allowed from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. through Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to midnight Wednesday, and from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Thursday.

Sultan: Discharge is allowed from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday.
