Creation vs. Evolution
The Monroe Seventh-Day Adventist Church will play host to a four-night event on the creation-versus-evolution debate.
Out Of Thin Air is an event that will explore the debate and tackle Darwin’s theory of evolution. Shawn Boonstra, director of It Is Written television will present this satellite series 6:45 to 8 p.m., Sept. 28 to Oct. 1.

Car show
Lakeside Community Fellowship will host a classic car show from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. today.
The event will feature a special guest speaker, Jeff Knight from The Rock Church, who also happens to be a stock car driver. There will be free hot dogs and hamburgers from noon to 1 p.m., door prizes and special musical guest Timothy James Meaney.

Concerts
Ebenezer Lutheran Church presents dramatic mezzo- soprano Shannon Magee at 2 p.m. Sept. 30.
She will sing the music of Verdi, Puccini, Saint-Saens, Wagner, Mendelssohn, Bach, Handel and Rogers and Hammerstein.
Magee has received rave reviews for operatic performances and concert appearances. She has performed many opera roles and been a featured soloist. For the Sept. 30 recital, Magee’s accompanist will be Iris Ingram of Lake Stevens.
There is no admission charge for this recital, but donations are appreciated.

Hillcrest Baptist Church will host a free bluegrass concert and ice cream social for the public at 7 p.m. Sunday, featuring the Mission Mountain Trio. It’s a fun event for friends and family.

New Life Prison Ministry will host The Mosaic Choir, including musicians and singers from more than 25 local churches, at 7 p.m. today. In addition to the choir, a silent auction and dessert fellowship will follow to raise funds for New Life Prison Ministry.
The performance and auction will take place at New Life Foursquare Church, 6830 Highland Drive, Everett.

Women’s events
The Trinity Lutheran Church MOPS — Mothers Of Preschoolers — group has begun their 2007-2008 year.
This group is open to all mothers with children, newborn through kindergarten age. MOPS is a great place where a mother can come to build friendships, be encouraged, take a break and gain practical parenting strategies; all while your children are cared for in the MOPPETS program.
TLC MOPS meets from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. first and third Thursdays at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2324 Lombard, Everett.

The MOMS Club of Snohomish has a monthly meeting open to all mothers looking for fun and support. The MOMS Club is an international, nonprofit support group for mothers who stay at home with their children, including those who have home-based businesses or who work part-time but are home with their children during the day. The club offers a range of activities including play groups, books clubs and special daytime events geared toward children.

GriefShare is a special weekly seminar and support group for people grieving the death of someone close.
