That heat? It’s just Apple Cup fever

It’s a battle of embattled coaches in today’s Apple Cup. Both the UW’s Tyrone Willingham and WSU’s Bill Doba are on the hot seat. In Willingham’s case, it’s just a dry heat, but Doba’s is more of a boiling cauldron.
We’ve obtained an advance copy of the coaches’ conversation after the Huskies’ 38-24 victory today:
Willingham: “Sorry, coach. I know the vultures are circling.”
Doba: “No problem. Is that Mike Price over there? Am I the only one who sees him everywhere these days?”
Willingham: “I’ve been seeing a lot of Don James. Well, we’re headed to Hawaii to pretend we’re playing in a bowl game.”
Doba: “I’m off to work on my resume. I hear there could be an opening at Notre Dame. Maybe I could get you to put in a word.”
Willingham: “Probably not.”
It’s all about romance: A pair of pandas in San Diego have produced three cubs despite rarely spending any time together.
“For 363 days a year they don’t want to have anything to do with each other,” a researcher said.
The other two days, of course, are the male panda’s birthday and their anniversary.
