Mountlake Terrace: City picks interim police chief
A retired Lacey police chief has been named interim chief in Mountlake Terrace beginning Monday.
Larry Dickerson, 64, will serve until the city hires a replacement for Scott Smith, who resigned last month to become chief of the Tulalip Tribal Police Department, said Scott Hugill, a city spokesman.
The search for a new chief likely will take six months, Hugill said.
After retiring as Lacey’s police chief in 2005, Dickerson has served in interim positions for the cities of Battle Ground, Tenino and Union Gap.
