Candidate forum date set
The Edmonds Chamber of Commerce will host a candidate forum from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18 at City Council Chambers, 250 5th Ave. N, Edmonds. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and a question and answer sessions will take place from 7 to 9 p.m.

Frances Anderson Ctr. project done
Members of the Edmonds City Council at their regular meeting Tuesday, Sept. 28 accepted the final construction costs for the Frances Anderson Center potable water project. The project, which was part of the overall improvements approved by the City Council and paid for through 2001 bonds, recently was completed. Total cost for the project was $321,222.55.
Included in the project was a hazardous materials survey of the building, restroom remodels, replacement of galvanized steel potable water piping and abatement and replacement of asbestos insulation materials for water and steam piping, a City Council agenda memo stated.
Food bin ready
for donations
The Edmonds Food Bank has set up a food bin in front of Dan Skeels State Farm Agency, 210 5th Ave. South, Suite 103, Edmonds, next door to Tully’s. The bin will remain there through Nov. 30.
All food donations are welcome. Baby formula and diapers are especially needed at this time. For more information, call 425-640-3091.
Concert to highlight locals
The Edmonds Exchange Club is looking for accomplished musical artists who are willing to volunteer their talents for a worthy cause. The group is sponsoring a charitable concert scheduled for 2 to 3:30 p.m. Nov. 27 at the Edmonds Theater. The event will include eight to 10 acts over 90-minutes. The Exchange Club is a group of men and women who represent various segments of the community, recognize their civic responsibilities and join together voluntarily in thought and action to serve their communities. The proceeds of the projects they sponsor are used to support various local needs including The Little Red School House, Pathways for Women, Edmonds Senior Center and needs which are identified by our members, or, brought to us by the community. Programs that support the prevention of child abuse are our top priority.
