Berwick’s enthusiasm for art show unsurpassed

Every once in a while you meet someone who is inseparable from a group, institution or event which they help with or represent. Sharron Berwick was such a person, specifically with her involvement with the “Arts of the Terrace.” She just oozed with enthusiasm for and commitment to that fine show. I had several rich talks with her about some of the pieces each year and it was always fun to hear her take. Earlier in my life, I had been in some middle school orchestra performances with her son Erik, and the effort and commitment that he and I (and others) put into those makes me appreciate more the behind-the-scenes touches that Sharron put into what I found myself sometimes thinking to myself was, in a very real way, “Sharron’s Show.” Every year I’ve gone to that show, I’ve said, there’s no way next year’s will be better or maybe even as good as this year’s; and then, somehow, it always is. I’m confident that this year’s show will produce a similar response from me, and I’m sure that many of the contributing artists will do their part in helping to continue the “Berwick Brilliance.”
