Watkins and Chamber team up

Team Watkins, a full service advertising agency owned by David Watkins, has been awarded a $78,000 contract to direct marketing for the Edmonds Chamber of Commerce “Find Yourself in Edmonds” campaign.

The campaign is the product of the Chambers’ Team Edmonds Committee, a community-marketing program aimed at attracting more tourists, shoppers and restaurant-lovers to enjoy Edmonds’ small-town charm. Continued fund-raising will build on initial contributions from the Port of Washington, City of Edmonds, Edmonds Chamber and individual business.

“The campaign will be unique and fun,” said David Watkins. “After all, Edmonds is all about enjoying life.”

Radio ads focused around Edmonds’ popular events, like the town’s Waterfront and Arts Festivals, will initiate the campaign kick-off.

“This campaign is a rallying point for our community,” said Brian Comstock, owner of Comstock Jewelers and Team Edmonds chairman. “David Watkins is a great selection because of his expertise and the fact that he loves Edmonds. He frequents our beaches, shops and restaurants. He knows we have spectacular resources and friendly people.”

Watkins began his career in sports publicity with the University of Washington before moving to the Seattle SuperSonics and Cleveland Cavaliers. Returning to the Puget Sound area, he built his own successful business. Clients have included The Golf Savings Bank, Bob Byers Volvo and Ray’s Boathouse.
