The Edmonds Fire Department was dispatched to 104 calls in and around Edmonds the week of May 7-13, which brings this year’s call volume to 1,844. Medical crews evaluated 68 patients; fire crews responded to 36 incidents.

Medical Dispatches

Medical crews responded to seven patients at live-in care facilities. Patients ranged in age from 73 to 91. Their complaints included chest pain, seizure activity and abdominal pain.

Department personnel also responded to two preteens, each 12 years old, at separate incidents. One patient suffered a hand injury when he tripped and fell while running on the school playground. The other patient was seen at the Edmonds skateboard park, where he fell backwards off his skateboard and possibly fractured an elbow.

Landscape Fires

Fire crews responded to two bark fires this week. On May 8, near the bus stop at 72nd Avenue West and 213th Place West, firefighters found one square foot of smoldering beauty bark. In the same area on May 10, another bark fire was discovered; Edmonds Police Department also responded.
