Football season ticket sales strong

Hey, it’s March, prime time for college basketball. So how ‘bout a little football news this afternoon?

When it was announced that Tyrone Willingham would remain Washington’s football coach despite a 4-9 record, plenty of fans were angry about it, and plenty threatened that they would stop coming to games, donating money, etc. So far, however, season ticket sales and renewals are ahead of pace from last year.

As of the start of this week, the school has renewed about 36,400 season tickets out of 43,000 total, and accepted 1,060 new season ticket deposits. The pace of both renewals and new ticket deposits are slightly ahead of where they were at this time last year.

New season ticket sales officially kick-off at the spring game when the ticket office conducts its annual “Select-A-Seat” event that day, and single game tickets go on sale in late July.

That is all, continue discussing/thinking about/watching basketball now.
