Microsoft to Yahoo: Resistance is futile

Just like 20 years ago, it’s a great way to bond with your friends. And just like 20 years ago, you’ll have more time to devote to D&D if you have lots of acne and don’t get out much.

Most of the stuff on the site is what you’d expect — alarm clocks, jewelry, wristwatches. For some reason, it also has a glut of stocking masks, flashlights, rope and duct tape.

Always helpful, Microsoft is introducing tables at cell phone stores that will tell you about products without that uncomfortable feeling of talking to a salesperson.

Think of it as the return of Clippy, that little fellow who used to pop up and tell you how to use your software — if you can think of Clippy without throwing something.

Meanwhile, Microsoft wants Yahoo to stop stalling and accept its takeover bid — or else.

In a harsh letter, Microsoft said it’s no longer buying Yahoo executives’ excuse that they’re so tied up trying to install Vista, they haven’t had any time to respond.
