UW women’s hoops signs Australian point guard and other non-football specific news

A couple of non-football things to report today.

With three of the six freshmen from last year’s recruiting class having left the team, the Huskies had room to add some players for next year, and on Tuesday head coach Tia Jackson announced the signing of Australian point guard Nicole Romeo.

Jackson said she first heard about Romeo from Australian Jessica Foley, who played at Duke while Jackson was an assistant there. Foley came to Seattle for a visit in January.

Also, the school announced today that executive associate athletic director Jeff Compher will leave to become the AD at Norther Illinois University.
