Lynnwood

Culvert work starting at Lund’s Gulch

Construction is set to begin this summer to repair a storm water culvert along the southern end of Lund’s Gulch.

Significant erosion occurred along the edge of the gulch in January, when a falling tree severely damaged the culvert. The city of Lynnwood quickly installed a temporary culvert to prevent further erosion and protect the gulch’s natural resources.

The city contracted with Gray and Osborne of Seattle to design a high-density polyethylene culvert, which will have a projected life expectancy of 100 years.

Construction on the culvert, to be performed by NorthWest Dirtworks LLC of Lake Stevens, is scheduled to begin in early July. The work should be finished by the end of summer, according to the Lynnwood Public Works Department.
