District needs recycling program

I am a 5th grader at Lowell Elementary and we are working on a project on the environment. I know how important recycling is because I wrote an essay about recycling. I wonder if recycling is so important, then why doesn’t the Everett School District have a recycling program for cans and bottles in all our schools? We learn by example and if we see that people throw away things that can be recycled, then we think it’s OK.
