The Queen giveth, and she taketh away

Poor Robert Mugabe. First, people were crazy enough to vote against him, and now Queen Elizabeth II has stripped the Zimbabwean leader of his ceremonial knighthood.

All Mugabe is trying to do is set up a monarchy. You’d think of all people, the queen would understand.

Elizabeth turned around and gave a knighthood to “Satanic Verses” author Salman Rushdie. Rushdie usually keeps a low profile, but he figured that becoming a knight would make his suit of armor seem less ridiculous.
