Bill Gates to sign off, if computer doesn’t freeze up

Today is Bill Gates’ last day on the job at Microsoft. He’ll spend his last day as a working stiff like most of us would — ruthlessly trying to crush one last competitor.
How will Bill spend his newfound freedom and his $58 billion? A few suggestions:
Catch a concert next week. Billy Idol plays the Paramount on Tuesday and George Michael brings his tour to KeyArena on Wednesday.
Bill will want to roll out his ’80s look to fit in: Lots of leather, along with his standard thick glasses, high-water pants and pocket protector.
Go see a movie. The big new release this week is “WALL-E,” a touching animated film from Pixar. It’s the story a pair of mismatched robots who communicate through blips, beeps and about three actual words.
The movie might hit close to home. It’s based on the true story of Bill Gates, Paul Allen and the early days of Microsoft.
Or catch “Frownland.” Herald movie critic Robert Horton describes it as “stubbornly resistant to any crowd-pleasing impulse.” Perfect. That’s exactly what reviewers said about Windows Vista.
