Just in time for the Fourth, police are reminding residents that all fireworks are illegal in Edmonds and Woodway.
The sale, possession, and use of fireworks of any kind are banned, according to a police statement. Violations are cause for confiscation and fines.
“Please do not bring sparklers, roman candles, ground flowers, candles, fountains and other consumer fireworks to Edmonds or Woodway,” the statement read. “None are allowed.
“If you must use fireworks, use them where you buy them,” it said.
The Edmonds ban has been in effect since 1993, and punishes violators with fines up to $200. The Woodway ban started in 2000, and allows fines up to $250.
