Prefers the Birthday Party

When you get your primary ballot, you might notice a few political parties you’ve never heard of before. The ballot will say each candidate “prefers” a party — any party they can think of. For instance, one prefers the Salmon Yoga Party.
If this were a college election, the candidates might simply Prefer To Party.
Prefers Risking My Neck Party: You can warm up for the grueling workout of watching the Olympics from your couch by tuning in to the X Games, an extreme sports event. While watching, you’ll hear a lot of terms you may need an interpreter to understand, such as “fastplant flair.” If one of those turns into a faceplant flair, you might also hear beeps indicating words you can understand but aren’t allowed to say on TV.
Prefers Structure Party: The costume designer for “Mad Men” requires actresses on the show to wear the girdles typical of the early ’60s, when the show is set. They can be hard to find, though, since only one U.S. company still makes them. In a pinch, maybe the designer could check to see if museums have any girdles to lend. They’ll be located right next to the suits of armor.
