Crunching the numbers

Normally, we here at Buzz HQ like to spend our spare time looking up archaic words in the dictionary and talking about our favorite pieces of punctuation, but today we’ve got numbers on the brain, such as:
Eight. Specifically 8-8-08, which is proving to be an especially popular wedding date. If couples want to make the most of the numerical theme, they could also take an eight-day honeymoon and stay at a different Super 8 motel every night. But they might not have quite as much fun as the people who got married on 4-4-04 and stayed at the Four Seasons.
Five. That’s the number of puppies a company in South Korea cloned from a California woman’s late pit bull, Booger. Now she’ll have to name them all. We suggest Tissue, Sneezy, Stuffy, Nosy and NyQuil.
Zero. That’s the number of runs the Mill Creek All-Star pitchers allowed Tuesday in the team’s victory over Idaho. Mill Creek clinched a spot in the semifinals, moving another step closer to the Little League World Series. Maybe the Mariners could just arrange to sign the whole team in advance so we have something to look forward to around 2018.
