Next, on “The Rachael Ray Show”: David George Gordon, also known as “The Bug Chef,” is on a mission to convince people that crickets, scorpions and other insects are nutritious and tasty.

Yes, they’re high in protein, low in fat and put roughage in your diet. But, sorry, we’re going to pass on picking antennae from between our teeth.

“With a kiss of cream and melamine”: Remember melamine, the toxic chemical that was found in pet food imported from China? Now it’s turning up in the milk that Chinese parents feed their children.

China, with its emerging capitalist system, could learn a lesson or two from the U.S. about how important it is to regulate industries that are crucial to the econo … uh, never mind.

Speaking of which: Congress is balking a bit at that $700 billion Wall Street bailout, sensing a public mood that wants accountability built into the rescue plan and some penalties for executives who have abused the public trust.

Good idea. We suggest that CEOs’ three-martini lunches be substituted by a plateful of cockroaches and a big frosty mug of imported Chinese milk.
