Wednesday practice report

The Huskies are out practicing in a light drizzle right now, but the weather is suposed to get better for game day, so hopefully you all can leave the umbrellas at home.

Craig Noble, a freshman defensive tackle who just arrived on campus yesterday, was at his first practice today. Not a lot to report having not seen him do much, but the 300-pounder certainly passes the “eyeball test.”

And speaking of Noble, because his academic issues kept him away until now, it seems unlikely that he’d play this year, but neither Tyrone Willingham nor defensive coordinator Ed Donatell would rule out that possibility.

On the injury front, walk-on senior receiver Chancellor Young was on crutches and had a brace on his left leg. Not sure what the injury was, but we’ll ask Willingham about it tomorrow.

Byron Davenport (ankle), Victor Aiyewa (groin) and Darin Harris (concussion) were all at practice, but non were in pads. Davenport and Aiyewa were hitting the stadium stairs as the rest of the team started practice.
