A few quick notes from our meeting with Tyrone Willingham today.
Jake Locker had surgery on his broken thumb earlier today, and is expected to be out six-eight weeks.
Willingham said he hasn’t ruled out Locker playing another position, however, and said that time table is based on how long it would take him to return to play quarterback, not get back on the field.
A few other injury notes:
X-rays came back negative on D’Andre Goodwin’s rib injury, but it is still unknown whether he will play. Donald Butler (concussion) and David Freeman (ankle) are also questionable for this week’s game.
Ronnie Fouch, who came in after Locker got hurt, was named the team’s offensive player of the week, while Chris Stevens earned special teams player of the week honors. No defensive player of the week was awarded.
Service teams players of the week were Fred Wiggs, Mykenna Ikehara and Greg Walker.
