Pregame notes from a blustery Arizona Stadium

A little over an hour until kickoff, and if this weather keeps up, the wind will definitely be a factor. There’s a steady wind blowing hard from the south, and there’s also a chance we could see some rain this evening. Temperatures are currently in the mid 80s, but right now it looks like wind, not heat or rain, will have the biggest effect on the game.
A few quick notes on the travel roster:
Jake Locker did make the trip. Tyrone Willingham said he hoped to bring the injured quarterback on the road for his leadership skills as long as they could find room for him on the 64 man roster, and also so long as doctors cleared Locker to fly less than a week removed from surgery. Apparently things worked out on both ends, because Locker is here.
Also making the trip are a few freshmen that could see their first game action. Receivers Anthony Boyles and Cody Bruns are both here. I’m sure the coaches would still like to redshirt them if possible, but depending on how D’Andre Goodwin’s ribs hold up (he did make the trip) one or both of those freshmen could have to play. Tailback Terrance Dailey is also here as the team’s third tailback. Both David Freeman (ankle) and Brandon Yakaboski (knee) stayed in Seattle.
Also missing is safety Johri Fogerson (ankle), meaning either Tripper Johnson or Victor Aiyewa will likely start alongside Nate Williams.
