Garden club to talk bulbs on Wednesday

The Everett Garden Club plans to share tips on planting and caring for bulbs starting at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Memorial Community Church, 710 Pecks Drive. The program is free and open to the public.

Arts panel to discuss upcoming event

The Lake Stevens Arts Commission is scheduled to meet from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the annex behind City Hall, 1812 Main St.

Planned for discussion at the meeting are the Fall Art Gala, set for Oct. 22, and a reception for artist Ricardo Espinoza.

Diversity group plans breakfast on Thursday

A committee of the Monroe Diversity Council is set to offer a business breakfast program from 7:30 to 9 a.m. Thursday at Valley General Hospital in the Godard Room.

The committee welcomes area businesses to join in the discussion and learn more about the benefits of creating, supporting and promoting a more diverse work force. The speaker for this quarter’s program is Larry Bellona from Sodexo Inc., who is expected to speak on building and supporting a diverse work force.

Have coffee and chat with the city manager

The public is invited to have coffee with city manager John Caulfield.

The event is scheduled for 6 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Recreation Pavilion Center Court, 5303 228th St. SW.

Caulfield is hosting a series of casual conversations called Coffee with the City. The city manager will provide updates about what’s happening in the city and will take questions and comments about city services and events.

City seeks ambassadors

Volunteer ambassadors are sought to assist with promoting Snoho­mish during the 2008 Skate America, set to take place Oct. 21-26 in Everett.

The city of Snohomish is looking for those who are familiar with — or are willing to learn about — Snohomish businesses, farms and activities in and around ­Snohomish.
