Paying your debt to angry hockey fans

Cold justice: The man who cheated local hockey fans in the Everett Silvertips’ 50/50 Raffle was sentenced to 45 days in jail.

Prosecutors wanted to send him to a Silvertips game wearing an “I stole from you” sign, but the judge worried his chances of survival would be about 50/50.

Feel the beat: At 103 beats per minute, “Stayin’ Alive” by the Bee Gees matches the perfect pace if you’re doing CPR. So having the song in your head can help save a life.

But doctors say to be careful. If you try to sing the song’s high notes, your patient may not want to be revived.

Huh? A woman complains to Dear Abby today that despite her nagging, her husband won’t see a doctor about his poor hearing.

Abby agrees with her, but once again, she misses the big picture. Poor hearing is the cornerstone of a lot of happy marriages.

Why not to participate in sports: A report says more than one in every 10 Olympic athletes was injured in Beijing.

There were more than 500 athletes with leg and foot injuries, 100 with head injuries and several gymnasts who lost their baby teeth.
