Watch football at your own risk

Catch the carnage: WSU hosts USC today in a bit of a football mismatch. The Trojans are among the nation’s top teams, while the Cougars have given up at least 63 points three times already this season. Observers from Amnesty International will be in Pullman in case things get out of hand.

Meanwhile, the Huskies welcome Oregon State for a game they hope will turn their season around. The Dawgs are so desperate for a win, they’re willing to try almost anything. Well, anything besides tackling. That could leave a bruise.

And in NFL football, an injury update: Dallas quarterback Tony Romo held out hope that he would play this weekend despite a broken finger. The Cowboys probably don’t need him, but he seems worried girlfriend Jessica Simpson will get confused and throw in a substitute at home, too.

In other news, Boy Scouts are learning about the financial world in order to earn the Eagle rank.

Of course, the studies won’t really amount to much. The Scout Oath requires boys to be “mentally awake and morally straight,” so they’ll never work on Wall Street.
