UW women win exhibition opener

The UW women kicked off the season last night with a 77-73 win in an exhibition game against Love and Basketball, a traveling team made up mostly of former college players.
In an interesting local note, three players from Wesco High Schools started for Washington: Oak Harbor’s Heidi McNeill, Monroe’s Sarah Morton and Jackson’s Kristi Kingma.
McNeill, a senior forward, led the way with 16 points and 14 rebounds.

The Huskies host Corban College on Nov. 10 in another exhibition game, then play their season opener on Nov. 16 against Gonzaga.
