Pinkel staying at Missouri

One of the big names on the list of coaching candidates, Missouri head coach and former Don James assistant Gary Pinkel, has agreed to a contract extension to stay in Missouri, so you can take him out of the running.
As for this weekend’s Apple Cup, which brings back memories of the 1969 game, it looks like they’ll have descent weather for the game. I’m in Moscow, Idaho, just down the road from Pullman, and it’s a chilly but sunny afternoon. We may get a little rain/snow in the morning, but it should be mostly dry and (by November Pullman standards anyway) warm.
And looking ahead to tomorrow’s game, I’m picking a 30-21 UW win, with a nod to the 1969 game (the Huskies won by the same score that year when they came in 0-9) and I think that, even though both teams have been bad this year, the Cougars and Huskies will be plenty motivated to play hard this week.
