Pirates failed to catch a luxury cruise ship in the Gulf of Aden when the captain gunned the engines and sped away. And in a few short minutes, a bored captain’s childhood dream was fulfilled as he screamed over his shoulder “Arr! Ye blaggards! Try it ag’n and I’ll feed ye to the fishes!

It reminds us of layaway, where you make monthly payments and get the item when it’s paid for. Too bad the various bailouts can’t be put on layaway. We’d like to see the banks and automakers make a few payments before getting their billions in loans.
Researchers, ever anxious to spend money on cool toys, have created an interesting experiment. Using video goggles and a mannequin, they can make subjects feel as if they are in the mannequin’s body.
It likely won’t be long until this research is taken to its next logical step. We’ve always wondered what it’d feel like to be shaped like, say, Jessica Simpson.
And with her body and brains, Jessica could stand in easily for the mannequin.
