According to several recruiting websites, including rivals.com and scout.com, the Huskies have received a verbal commitment from Harbor City (Calif.) quarterback/safety Josh Moten.

New UW assistant Johnny Nansen made a visit to Moten’s house yesterday, then got head coach Steve Sarkisian on the phone. Sarkisian offered Moten a scholarship, and he committed later in the night.

Moten is being recruited as an athlete, but said he will get a shot at playing quarterback.

The bad news for the Huskies, however, is that , according to rivals.com, the state’s top recruit, defensive tackle Deandre Coleman, has decided to go to Cal. Coleman originally committed to Washington, then de-committed during the season after Tyrone Willingham was fired.
