Trash pickups in Everett adjusted for New Year’s Day

EVERETT — Trash pick up service in Everett will be delayed for one day later this week because of the New Year’s holiday. In the meantime, Rubatino Refuse Removal is accepting double loads because of missed service caused by snowstorms during the past few weeks.

The Everett garbage hauler said people who are scheduled for pickup on Thursday will instead have their trash picked up on Friday. Friday service will be pushed to Saturday.

Rubatino is trying to catch up on a backlog of trash caused by the this month’s snowstorms, a company spokesman said. Garbage pickup was called off early last week after garbage trucks got stuck on Everett’s snow covered residential streets.
