Huskies to name defensive coordinator today

The UW just put out a release that Steve Sarkisian will name his defensive coordinator at 3 p.m. today.

Given that USC defensive coordinator Nick Holt is reported to be in Seattle today, it seems a pretty safe bet that he’s the guy.

Here’s Holt’s bio from the USC athletics website. Holt was the defensive coordinator and defensive line coach at USC the last three years, though head coach Pete Carroll retained defensive play-calling responsibilities. He was also the linebackers coach at USC from 2001 to 2003 before speding two seasons as the head coach at Idaho in 2004 and 2005.
