USC’s Holt still in the running for UW DC job

Steve Sarkisian went after USC defensive coordinator Nick Holt not long after he was hired as the new UW head coach, but Holt turned him down last mont. Now, however, the L.A. Daily News is reporting that the two sides are talking again and that Holt is coming to Seattle to discuss the job.

“We’re talking. It’s not done. Hopefully we’ll know one way or the other pretty soon,” Sarkisian told the Daily News. “I don’t know if it’s something that can get done. I hate to be premature.”

And if you’re wondering why Holt might leave USC for the same job here, it would likely be because he wants control over his own defense. While Holt has the defensive coordinator title at USC, Pete Carroll is the one calling defensive plays for the Trojans.
