A touch of velvet at Lowell Art Works

Published 2:03 pm Tuesday, January 13, 2009

Fuzzy lovin’: Whether or not you regard it as high art, the velvet awaits.

At “The Velvet Show,” velvet art in all its ill-conceived and imaginative forms will be on display at Lowell Art Works. A confluence of Elvis, saucer-eyed kittens and voluptuous vixens are there for your viewing.

The curator for the show is artist Michael T. Gardner who is calling this lush collection the most wonderful velvet art you can handle in one place.

“We’ll be up to our fuzzy luvin’ eyeballs in kitsch and creativity,” Gardner said.

The festivities kick off during a reception from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Lowell Art Works, 5205 S. Second Ave., Everett. The show runs through Feb. 8.
