The accused face slight discrepancy

Poor little Laura Potter robs a bank of $200 and her bail is set at $50,000 and she is sent off to jail. Bernie Madoff steals $50 billion and is allowed to stay in his posh apartment. Does this bother anyone besides me? Could there possibly be a double standard in our country? Ya think?
