Taking a look at recruiting

With signing day just around the corner and a dead period now in effect, time to take a look at what the Huskies are expecting to get when the fax machines fire up on Wednesday.

The latest—and possibly the last—addition to the class is junior college defensive end Ryan Davis, who had previously committed to California before changing his mind after his Washington visit over the weekend. Davis is one of four JC players to commit over the weekend along with OT Daniel Mafoe of El Camino (where Steve Sarkisian played before transferring to BYU), DT Johnny Tivao of Cerritos, and punter William Mahan of Bakersfield.

That brings the Huskies up to 18 commitments, including six JC players, an indication that Sarkisian and his staff are looking for players who can help right away.

Here’s scout.com’s list, and here’s the rivals.com version. Scout.com ranks the Huskies class as No. 68 in the nation and last in the Pac-10, while rivals.com ranks the Huskies 82nd and ninth in the Pac-10, three spots ahead of Washington State.
